A Mailbox.

Grandma has been talking about her new mailbox and it came in the mail... we weren't sure what we were going to have to do about getting it out.... so after the funeral was over I figured we should try.

Earlier in the day Luke and Grandma went and trimmed the treated wood board to fit the plastic part and Luke was excited to take the drill box in case we needed it.

We still weren't sure what kind of job it was going to be.... but we went for it and started pushing it back and forth to loosen it up.  Luke thought that digging it out would be good... but we had to be careful not to dig grass.

Then we went for it and finished the trouble.  I was afraid we weren't tall enough but it worked out and came right out... with only dirt beneath. Luke and Camilla were thrilled to check the mail on the ground.

After a warning phone call we waited a few minutes and then we needed to cut it at Grandpa Greats just a bit more.

Luke went for banging it up after that.....

He also brought out the wagon to help... Grandpa ended up taking it back in the wagon so that worked out.

Everyone wanted to come for a quick trip to Grandpa Greats... swinging.

Luke liked the bucket and cleaned up the yard with the cool stick for about a minute.....

Luke desperately wanted the extra piece of wood for his house.... Thankfully he forgot by the end of the night.

Might have been the rice krispie treat that distracted him.

We got back and it was pretty perfect.  Grandma had this cool foam stuff and so we taped it all up and got it ready.  Then after trying to push it through I called Chad to see how close he was and decided to wait for him to do that part....

Luke put in a few rocks first...

We were glad we did a better job on the plastic.... so was the grass.

and then it needed to set for a couple of hours.  After a trip to canes (mobile order of course) we came back to find that Gary Webb and Chad had moved one of the huge boxes over with the jack and skateboard.... we were impressed.

After dinner they recruited everyone to help push the other one into place.  They thought they were pretty strong.  Those things are SO heavy. But they are moved so we can all sleep at night ...or at least dad can.

Then the grass needed some water and so did some kids...
