Alivia's first choir concert was a little earlier than usual because her teacher could have twins any day now and wanted to be ahead of the game. Liv is in advanced choir as her teacher (in our ward) said she would be bored in the others. Because she is in advanced they get to wear pretty dresses for their concerts.
They had the concert at school which meant that they didn't have enough space for all the choirs and all the parents for one full concert. So we had the advanced choir and chamber choir in our concert section which was really nice. Sister Jackson played the piano too. Liv saw her during their rehearsal and I asked if she said hello... she told me they were busy.
Liv smiled for Grandma and saw her...
That water bottle was a little loud on the floor... a few times... but overall we had really good concert goers.
getting ready to go.
A few weeks ago Alivia told me "I have a surprise for you." I said great what is it? She told me... "I'll tell you later.." I asked if it was later and she said "Ok.. I got the solo!"
She chose to audition and got the solo. We know the choir teacher and she is the only sixth grader in choir so I figured there was slight nepotism. haha... which oh well? At the Trunk-R-Treat Caitlin said did Alivia tell you about her solo? I said yes and said I don't know if biased is bad. She said oh no- I didn't even give her the solo. She has a guest teacher who will be taking over her class while she is on maternity leave and Caitlin said that Jezy did the auditions and chose Alivia all on her own. So she earned it. Their class only had one song with a solo so that was fun.
Grandma was good at figuring out who all the other soloists (in the other choir) parents were.... we missed the thumbs memo.
This mic had been falling so Ms. Francese helped her out with it.
Here's the video... the lady in front of Chad got her camera out... but he has longer arms...
Much more relaxed after the show. Grandma and Luke walked back home while we waited to find Livy.
On the way home Camilla said "I have a good singing voice too.. but I don't ever want to do a solo!" Personality is so funny.
