I spy the Temple. We knew the general direction and got to see a whole new side of St. George we haven't seen from the car.
We got out of the car and it was windier and colder as the sun was starting to go down.
Luke was excited "I see it!"
and then Luke's Temple experience was made.... the lady driving the golf cart stopped by and said would you all like a ride? We took it and she was quite good at u-turns. She told us she had just learned that it could go in reverse. ha. Luke was in heaven.
We went through the Temple and didn't wait too long to get into the warm foyer. We got booties and walked in. Luke's favorite part was climbing down the stairs... and there were quite a few stairs. Camilla and Alivia liked the baptistry best. Whoever chose the artwork in this Temple wins the prize. It was all SO good.
Obviously touching the fountain outside is a priority... even when its getting colder and colder.
It has a pretty view. The houses around the temple aren't even built yet... they have signs promoting what is to come.
We were debating going up for this open house. We had just gone to St. George not too long ago but decided that this might be the last one before we (fingers crossed) have our Temple dedication... even if its a long way off.
I had asked Camilla if she wanted to go and she told me not really.... I asked her why. She told me that it gave her a weird feeling and nervous. So we talked about why and Chad and I decided to go a lot slower this time and explain all the things to her.
So we did... and she asked a lot of questions. Great questions. Why are there 12 oxen? and she was thrilled to have a Jacob and Sons answer. It really was more of just explaining what she knew happens in the Temple. She wanted to know about altars and especially wanted to know where you got married. Afterwards we talked about it and she was much more confident and happy about her Temple experience. This girl looks and desires for "peace" more than anyone I know. This time she was able to recognize it in a different way.
Luke saw someone walk around the planter wall and thought it was great idea.
and he missed the picture.
Chad and the girls.
We walked around the backside for a bathroom and found a pretty path around.
While Liv went to the bathroom the others hurried and went to change in the car.... around the back way.
