First Grade Promotion.

 Promotion day was Friday and Camilla's promotion was in her classroom.  This was fun because it was just their class and afterward they had a family lunch.

Her teacher gave out the awards which went a little more quickly than the older grades because you only can receive a few awards in first grade, and adds some high-fives and some hugs.  Camilla received the AR award, AB Honor Roll (1...), and the "Nerds" Award-for learning so quickly in all subjects.  Ms. Hall said that Camilla picked up on everything super fast and learned everything very quickly.  She was one that could handle anything new.  

The teacher ended by giving superlative awards for everyone in the class and had a candy attached to it.  She would tell about the student and why they deserved that award and why they were great.... The kids would start calling out and voting for who they thought it should be and they usually thought (especially when it was a good thing) it should be Camilla, even after she had her own award.

Pizza, chips, cupcakes, oreos, candy, so many treats.. They were excited to be in there. 

Luke had some pizza with her. 

There were a few trains going on and Camilla was put to lead them by her friends.  She told me that they do this for birthdays and go around the classroom.  

Their substitute for field day gave some of them cute smelly stickers and she collected a few. 

Luke thought it was pretty cool too.  He has been talking about a juice pouch for weeks since bought them so adding a cupcake on it was even better. 

It has been a good year for Camilla and she has grown a lot and dealt with different personalities.  She has come out of her shell a bit inside her classroom.  We are excited for next year with Ms. Hubbard... I think we will like old school.
